Larry "Doug" SwangerPOLK: Larry "Doug" Swanger, 54, of Polk, passed away suddenly on April 29, 2017.Doug was born on November 4, 1962 in Mansfield to James A. Swanger and Nancy (Price) Swanger Keffer. He was a very wonderful husband and Salli was very honored to have been his wife. Doug was known as everybody's uncle and loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, racing, bluegrass music, and sports, especially the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. Doug married his sweetheart, Salli (Thompson) Swanger on July 29, 2010 and she survives. He is also survived by his canine fur baby, Shadow; six siblings, Jim (Vanessa) Swanger, Audrey (Mike) Mount, Robert Keffer, Daryl Swanger, and Kristi Swanger, all of Mansfield, and Tammy Cox of Crestline; step-father, Melvin Keffer of Mansfield; father-in-law, Roy Thompson of Ashland; sister-in-law, Roberta Thompson of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved Doug like a second dad, Jimmy, Anthony, Kristal, Megan, Clinton, Jamie, Shane, and Tyler.Doug was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Melvin Keffer, Jr.Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.The family is requesting that friends and family wear Browns, Indians, or racing T-shirts and jeans to the calling hours and funeral to celebrate Doug's life.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.Online condolences may be made at
