FREMONT — Larry W. Zeman, age, 72, of Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, Angola, Indiana. Larry was born on Oct. 30, 1943, in Washington, D.C., the son of Louis and Dorothy (Joseph) Zeman. They preceded him in death. He graduated from St. George High School in Evanston, Illinois, and later served in the
United States Marine Corps. After 40 years as a building engineer at Bank One/Chase Plaza in downtown Chicago, he retired as a true Chicagoan. Larry then moved to the family cottage on Clear Lake with his wife, Mary, and his precious poodle, Sherry. His favorite seat in the house overlooked Clear Lake while watching his grandkids jet ski, swim and play. He was so proud to pass along his love and passion of water skiing to all those who were willing to learn. "Grandpa Larry" will forever be remembered as a young soul who loved funny jokes, country music and good food. Survivors include his wife, Maria "Mary" Zeman of Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana; his daughters, Maria (Adam) Rabianski of Lemont, Illinois, and Anna Krzysiak of Chicago, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jakob, Gabriela, and Lukas; a brother, Louis (Michelle) Zeman of Boulder, Colorado; and a sister, Bonnie Wendtland of Chicago, Illinois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at St Paul Chapel Catholic Church, Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana, with Father Wilfred Logsdon officiating. There will also be calling hours at the church prior to the Mass, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at the Covenanter Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, where military committal services will be conducted by members of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257, and the Fort Wayne Military Honors team.
