Early Saturday morning, November 24,1990, LaTonya McKnight exchanged her earthly life for eternity. Tonya was born June 5, 1965, in Washington, D.C. She was the youngest child of Bertha Mae McKnight and the late Eddie James McKnight.
Tonya, as she was affectionately called , attended Charles R. Drew Eleme mother ntary School, Daniel C. Roper Jr, High School and Howard D. Woodson Sr. High School in Washington, D.C.
LaTonya worked at home for her mother's daycare.
LaTonya leaves to mourn her devoted mother, Bertha McKnight; a daughter, Chekeya Wills; a son, Curtis McKnight; a brother, Gregory McKnight ; a half-sister, Chereka Melvin; grandmother, Salena Davis of Lynchburg, S.C.; a companion/her children's father and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Should you go first and I remain to finish with this earthly life, no lengthening shadows shall creep into make this life seem droll.
We've known so much happiness, we've had our cup of joy, and memory is one gift from God, that death can't destroy.
Love Always,
Your Loving Mother
Those we love but someday pass beyond our present sight,
Must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light.
But we know that, like a candle, their lovely life will shine
To brighten up another place, more perfect - more divine.
And in the ralm of heaven, where for they shine,so warm and so bright,
Our loved ones live forever more in God's eternal light.
Your Loving Children,
Chekeya Wills & Curtis McKnight
You Live to survive and survive to live
Although for you rlife had so much to give
You left behind a life of fun (Chekeya & Curtis)
But is lost because of a gun your thuggish life was always a risk
But just so you know you will always be missed
Your Loving Children
Chekeya & Curtis
