LAURA CROSS Laura Belle Cross passed away suddenly at her home on January 16, 2017. Daughter of William George Cross and Patricia Josephine Cross (nee Burdett-Holcroft) of Smithville. Laura was born on March 11, 1961. She is survived by her four siblings and their families: Charles Cross, Elizabeth Duchene, Rebecca Hammond and Alison Cross-Nicholls. Laura was born in Hamilton at St. Joseph's Hospital. Laura was a longtime fundraiser for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She made her home in Toronto where she worked in information technology support. Laura was a generous person who was always looking for ways to help and encourage others. She initiated and supported community improvement projects, notably a well used children's playground. Laura acted as an advocate for many of her friends and neighbours. She adored her nieces and nephews and they adored her right back. Laura was very proud of what she fondly referred to as her children. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A private service was held on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
