From a young age, Laura exhibited an immense passion for learning. She excelled academically and went on to graduate with honors from Ville Platte High School. Laura's thirst for knowledge led her to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University and a Master's degree in Social Work from Tulane University.
Devoted to making a positive impact, Laura dedicated her career to helping others as a licensed clinical social worker. She worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those struggling with mental health issues, providing guidance, support, and a listening ear. Laura's selflessness and empathy were unparalleled, making her a true asset to the community.
Outside of work, Laura had a passion for nature and the outdoors. She loved spending time exploring the beautiful landscapes of Louisiana, often on long hikes or camping trips with her friends and family. Her adventurous spirit and wanderlust took her to breathtaking destinations around the world, where she embraced different cultures and made lasting connections.
Laura's vibrant personality and infectious laughter brought joy to every gathering. She was known for her love of music and would often be found dancing and singing along to her favorite tunes. Her warm presence and ability to make everyone feel welcome will be deeply missed.
Laura is survived by her loving parents, John and Mary; her sister, Emily; and a large extended family consisting of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who she considered family. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts.

A celebration of Laura's life will be held at the Ville Platte Community Center on November 15, 2023, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Laura's memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
