Laura Lynn ReeseAltoonaLaura Reese, 50, of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home. Laura Lynn was born on November 28, 1966 in Des Moines to Carol (Gile) and Terry Reese..Laura worked for BH Management in Des Moines and for Pier 1 in Ankeny. She was a huge sports fan - she played softball when she was younger. Her favorite was of course the Iowa Hawkeyes and went to see them play many times over the years. Her favorite things were reading a good book, watching movies, singing to 80's music, shopping, shoes, QVC and EBay. Laura loved children and her furry companions, CoCo, Lola and Manny. She especially loved time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Terry and Carol; her brother, Rick and his wife, Christine and their children, Nolan and Ava; her grandmother, June Reese; her god-children, Karlie Flam, Patrick Maxwell and Nolan Reese; many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Reese, Charles and Lorene Gile and her aunt, Elaine Everson.Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines.
