Laura Zartoohie DavidianNovember 13, 1928 - October 21, 2017VisaliaLaura Zartoohie Davidian was born on November 13, 1928, in Fresno, CA, to Haig and Rebecca Balakian. She was the oldest of three children. Laura was raised on the family farm in Selma, CA. She attended Terry Grammar School and Selma Union High School where she graduated in 1946. Upon graduation, she started nurses training at Fresno County Hospital. In September of 1947, Laura met the "love of her life," Harry Davidian, at the new St. Mary Armenian Church ordination in Yettem. Harry and Laura were married eight months later on April 17, 1948. They were the first couple to be married in the church where they met. In 1950, they were blessed with their first daughter, Janice Elaine. Three years later a second daughter was born, Phyllis Ann. And nine years later a third daughter, Rebecca Jean. Her girls were her pride and joy.Laura and Harry worked side-by-side in their fields and running their packing shed for over 50 years, although maintaining her home was her favorite "job." Laura was an active member of St. Mary Armenian Church. She was a member of the Mr. & Mrs. Club, Ways and Means, and Ladies Society where she held various offices in her 70 years of service. She was involved in numerous clubs and organizations including Beta Sigma Phi, PTA, R&R Club, AGBU, Ani Guild, and was honored to serve on the Tulare County Grand Jury. Lolo, as she was best known, was loved by everyone she met. She lit up a room with her sassy sparkle and her brilliant presence. Lolo adored her family, the San Francisco 49ers and Giants, and the United States of America. Her generous heart and patriotism were unmatched. Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry, her parents Haig and Rebecca Balakian, and grandson Chad Tellian. She is survived by her sister Betty Krikorian and brother Patrick (Donna) Balakian; her beloved daughters, Janice (Rich) McWilliams, Phyllis (Alan) Borba, Becky (Jeff) Akin; her cherished grandchildren, Jared (Kelsie) Tellian, Justin Tellian, Shawna (David) Kneeland, Marc (Juliana) McWilliams, Gina (Darren) Ananian, Chad (Layne) Borba, Kayla (Jón) Swift, Sarah (Cameron) McRoberts, Paige Ainley, Katie (Mike) Young, Josh (Ashley) Akin, Tyler Akin; the lights of her life, her great-grandchildren, Grace, Blake, & Paisley Tellian, Lauren Kneeland, MaKenna and Jace McWilliams, Audreena, Laura, & Marley Ananian, CJ and Austin Swift, Colton & Kinley Akin, Layla Young; and great-great-granddaughter, Aubrey Chavez.Laura entered Heaven's gates on October 21, 2017. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Havard and his staff, Sierra Village Staff, and the excellent care from Kare Dolls Kare Giving, especially our Kaylene Peredo for becoming Lolo's special friend and right-hand gal.Visitation is Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 P.M., at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave. in Visalia. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:00 A.M., at St. Mary Armenian Church, 14395 Ave. 384 in Yettem.
