Laurie Conforti Obituary

Mar 04, 1953 - Jul 20, 2015

This obituary is administered by:
Laurie (Hradsky) Conforti 1953 - 2015 Laurie (Laurel Ann) Conforti, 62, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side Monday, July 20, 2015, due to complications from diabetes. She was born on March 4, 1953, in Kenosha, daughter of the late Louis and Joyce (Sorensen) Hradsky. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. She received her RN degree from Gateway Technical College and worked for many years as a loving, caring nurse and Director of Nursing for the elderly. She brought much comfort to so many. Laurie retired in March of 2015. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Laurie was a very calm, soothing, generous and good hearted person. She enjoyed many of Kenosha's own establishments, as well as travels to Cedarburg, Minneapolis, Crivitz and Duluth. She also enjoyed music, reading, playing Scrabble, watching the Packers and tending to her peace garden, but most of all she loved being with her family. Attending the sporting and musical events of her grandchildren and spending time with her great-grandson brought her much joy. Laurie is survived by her three children, Jaymie (Jeffrey) Laurent, Jason Steagall, Justin (Jessica) Steagall; grandchildren, Angela Steagall, Allison and Jacob Laurent, Alexis Steagall and one great grandson, Joey Truehart. She is also survived by her sister, Janine (Cathy L. Nelson) Hradsky of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister in infancy, grandparents Minnie (Ungemach) Krisor, and Harold Sorensen, Lawrence and Frances (Vydra) Hradsky. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff of Wheaton Franciscan Health Care in Racine for their special care and kindness. Memorial suggestions include St. John's Lutheran Church of Kenosha, the Southern Wisconsin Butterfly Association, or any . A private celebration of Laurie's life will be held at a later date. Peace, perfect peace: daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
