On May 28, 2024, the world lost a shining light with the passing of Lavaris Harris, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Lavaris was born on October 7, 1999, in Richmond, Virginia to his loving parents Micheal L. Harris and Unique O. Bratton.

He attended Hermitage High School where he not only excelled academically but also made a name for himself on the basketball court and football field. He graduated in 2018 with honors, a testament to his hard work and dedication.

After graduation, Lavaris continued to make a mark on his community by dedicating his time to helping those in need. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Some of his favorite pastimes included playing baseball, basketball, and football. His competitive spirit and passion for sports brought joy to all who knew him.

Tragically, Lavaris's life was cut short due to brain trauma from a gunshot. His untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Although he may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Lavaris Harris will forever be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and unwavering love for those around him.

Rest in peace, Lavaris. You will be dearly missed.
