LAGRANGE — Laverne P. Sabelhaus-Kolin, 84, of LaGrange died Friday, April 8, 2016, at her home. Mrs.Sabelhaus-Kolin moved to Wolcottville from Tell City in 1961 and worked from 1971-1987 as a teller and bookkeeper at the Wolcottville branch of Farmers State Bank. She was born on Aug. 6, 1931, in Tell City to Clarence J. and Genevieve (Holtzman) Paulin. She married Paul K. Sabelhaus Sr. on Feb. 18, 1950, in Tell City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1981. She married Norman Kolin in Detroit, Michigan, on April 9, 1986. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2010. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Richard Button of Sturgis, Michigan; two sons, Donald Sabelhaus of LaGrange and Paul K. Sabelhaus Jr. of Wolcottville; two stepdaughters, Sarah and Fred Robertson of Houston, Texas, and Maren and David Breitwieser of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Shannon Cooley; a grandson, Jack Gibson; a granddaughter, Heather Michele Sabelhaus; three sisters; and four brothers. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. (CST) at Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City. Memorials may be made to the LaGrange County Council on Aging.
