LaVon MuirApril 18, 1934 - August 6, 2014LaVon Muir, 80, of Blackfoot, was reunited with God and family on August 6, 2014. LaVon was born on April 18, 1934, to William Reed Muir and Eva Jensen. He was born in Soda Springs and was raised in Gray's Lake, Idaho. LaVon was a tile setter and a hard worker all of his life and enjoyed passing on the skills of his trade to others. Much of his fine craftsmanship can still be seen throughout Southeast Idaho. LaVon loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and going to the casino. He was always looking for "the big one." Spending time with family, friends, and grandchildren was what he enjoyed most, as he was a fun and loving father, grandfather, and friend.He is survived by seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.LaVon was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Muir and one son. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.In 2001 LaVon was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, but he beat it by enjoying life for more than a decade with his loving family.
