Lawrence Branan Stonecypher, age 76, of Lyman, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Per his request, cremation has taken place and no public services will be held. Tributes of sympathy may be left for the family at www.dugankramer.com. Lawrence was born on September 26, 1940 to Harry and Louise (Quattlebaum) Stonecypher at Atlanta, Georgia. He served in the United States Army as a green beret and paratrooper during the Vietnam war. During his military career, he completed two tours in Vietnam. After he left the military, he worked as a conductor for BN Railroad for 29 years. He served as the vice president for the Window Cleaning Union in New York and the UTU local chairman for 8 years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. He is survived by son, Steven Stonecypher; daughters, Lisa Stonecypher, Toni Lynn Pepper, and Betty Ann Grochal; and several other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Louise Stonecypher; brother, Lonnie Lunn Stonecypher; and sister, Lyndol Marx.
