Lawrence David RichardsonWashingtonLawrence David Richardson, 67, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016. He was born on August 16, 1949 in Dunn, North Carolina to Frances Farrah Richardson and Lawrence Bedford Richardson Jr. He married Sharon Beth Richardson on July 23, 2004 in Thousand Oaks, California.Lawrence preferred to be called David or Larry. While David was born in North Carolina, he grew up in Canoga Park, California and spent most of his life in California. He spent ten years living in Dryden, Michigan and most recently resided in Washington, Utah. He was a decorated Sergeant in the Army and served his country with high honors in the
Vietnam War. Once discharged from the Army, David began his long career in the auto industry working for, and then selling,
General Motors vehicles. His passion for cars ended with him being dubbed the "Vette Guy" mainly due to his specialty in the sale of corvettes and the fact that he owned a black Z06 Corvette that he didn't let anyone touch. David always had a gift with landscapes and possessed a green thumb that he passed onto his children. He dearly loved his wife, his kids, his grandchildren and his country. He is survived by his wife Sharon Beth Richardson of Washington, Utah; his son Eric Richardson and his wife Mary of Ipswich, Massachusetts; his son Kevin Richardson and his wife Rachel of East Boston, Massachusetts; his son Jeffrey Richardson and his wife Jennifer of Chula Vista, California; his son Todd Richardson of Mesa, Arizona; his daughter Shannon Eaker and her husband Michael of Simi Valley, California; his sister Brenda LaVette of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; his grandchildren Austin, Rhiannon, Alyssa, Tyler, Harper, and Savannah; his niece Elizabeth "Missie" Ray and her children McKenna and Skyler; and his nephews William Smith and Robert Smith. He is preceded in death by his mother Frances and father Lawrence. The family would like to give their heartfelt appreciation to the Dixie Regional Medical Center and particularly, Dr. Bryce Ferguson and the nursing staff in the ICU, for the amazing care they gave to David. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Spilsbury Mortuary. It is located at 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, UT. There will be a gathering after the memorial service, details for the gathering will be given out at the memorial service.
