Lawrence StorchSanta Barbara, CAThe Honorable Lawrence Storch passed away in Santa Barbara on December 6, 2016, after a lengthy illness. He leaves behind his wife Jean Perloff, his son Maurice Storch (Miriam), his daughter Marchand Storch (Gil), and his beloved grandchildren Aron and Lara. He is also survived by his beloved twin sister Arlene Goldfarb (Jay), nieces, nephew, and many cousins. Judge Storch was born on January 13, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Queens College in 1955 and went on to serve in the
U.S. Air Force. He then graduated from St. John's School of Law in 1960. After working for the Securities and Exchange Commission in Los Angeles, he became a deputy district attorney in Ventura County and then entered private practice. Later he became a court commissioner and was then appointed to the Ventura County Superior Court by Governor Jerry Brown. He served in that position for twenty years. He was voted Trial Judge of the Year three times by the Ventura County Trial Lawyers' Association.He was loved and admired by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the many years of wonderful care given him by the staff of The Californian, by Dr. Paul Aijian, and to Emma Torres, his long-time caregiver.Arrangements entrusted to Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapels.
