Layla Abdullah, 60, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed Thursday, June 11, 2020 after he battle with cancer. Layla was born to Unice Lloyd on August 19, 1959 in Philadelphia PA. Layla completed most of her school years at William Penn high school in Philadelphia, PA. Layla was one of 7 children and moved to Harrisburg in 1990 to restart her life after leaving Philadelphia in pursuit of her nursing career where she made a home for her and her children. Layla worked at Hershey Medical Center until she retired in 2014. After working in nursing for over 20 years, Layla retired to do what she loved and that was raise her grandchildren.
Layla served his country as a Cerfified nursing assistant, wife, mother and loving grandmother. In 1991 she was honored with the Nursing Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program .
Layla is survived by 4 children: Haleema Abdussamad of Harrisburg, Belqis Naima Abdussamad of Philadelphia, Khadijah Abdullah of Philadelphia and Rayyonnah Abdullah of Philadelphia and her God-daughter Christian Bouie. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren Nyhmi Lloyd, Naeem AlHamad, Niyaat Abdussamad, Muhammad, Mijaahid, Musa, Munira, and Munif Abdullah, Sudais, Zaahra, Aasiayah and Hiyaat and her only brother Roy Lloyd and her sisters and a slew of friends and family. She loved to travel and take cruises with her friends. Eat, shop, and tell the funniest jokes. To know her was to love her and she will be missed. Love you umi until we meet again...
