Schneidewend, Leland A.Leland A. Schneidewend, age 90, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home in Nashville, TN, surrounded by family. He was born on June 26, 1927 in the Town of Union near Cedar Lake, to the late Paul M. & Ella (Drath) Schneidewend. Leland graduated from Clintonville High School in 1947. On August 13, 1949 he married Florence Leona Dombrowski, and the marriage was blessed with six children and 64 wonderful years. Leland worked as a machine tender for Kimberly-Clark Corporation for 42 years and was a member of Local USW 2-482. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, where he volunteered his time as an usher, on the board of elders and board of education throughout the years. Leland loved fishing, gardening, making wine, watching the Packers and Brewers, eating dinner at Dick and Joan's, and camping back in the day. Above all, Leland's greatest joy was his family. He loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dog/best friend Charlie to no end. His greatest love has been missing for the past 3.5 years as he missed his late wife, Florence every day since May 4, 2014.He will be sadly missed by his children: Jan (Randy) Dedering, Neenah; Jane (Mike) Stier, Neenah; Eileen (Earl) Patterson, Twin Falls, ID; Leroy (Dawn) Schneidewend, Menasha; Nancy (Jim) McMillan, Sycamore, IL; Sandra (Patrick) Callahan, Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Janell (Dean) Sargent, Scott (Tracey) Dedering, Chad (Jennie) Dedering, Amanda (Paul Ziegler) LaFountain, Troy (Kaitlyn Marsh) Dedering, Christopher (Erica Lopez) Stier, Craig (Carrie) Stier, Corey (Jessica) Stier, Jenni (Chris) Patterson-Lacour, John (Bailey) Patterson, Tedd (Kelly) Schneidewend, Hannah (Fiancé Dustin Davies) Schneidewend, Ryan McMillan, Matt (Nicole) McMillan, Austin (Tiana Bibb) Callahan, Aaron (Maddi McCormick) Callahan; great grandchildren - Dana, Trevor, Samantha Sargent; Zachary Dedering; Savannah, Madison, Carson Dedering; JoDee, Alyssa, Joshua, Ayden LaFountain; Bennett Stier; Eliana, Marin, Caleb, Raleigh Stier; Oliver, Quinnlee, Ledon Stier; Colin, Simon Patterson. He's further survived by Sisters: Gladys Reinke & Lila Knack, Brothers: Twin Brother - Leo (Pat Rossman) Schneidewend & Art (Carolyn Schneidewend, Sisters-in-law: Ann, Irene & Frances Schneidewend; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren: Dana Lee Dedering and Nicholas John Dedering; Sisters Violet & ReVerna Beyer; brothers Lloyd, Erick, Clarence, Phillip, Morbe, and Paul Schneidewend; sisters-in-law Shirley, Pat, Magdeline, Julie Dombrowski, Lee Kappell, brothers-in-law Bob Beyer, Bob Reinke, Bb Knack and Nubs Kappell.The Funeral Service for Leland will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (300 Broad Street, Menasha) with Rev. Steven Billings officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad Street Menasha or Avalon Hospice Nashville, TN.A very special thank you to the staff of Avalon Hospice - Nashville, TN for your care and compassion. Thank you to our many friends for their prayers and encouragement, new neighbors, and pastor Rickey Page in Nashville for food and visits during the final days we were blessed to share with Leland.
