Lelia Marie Smith Obituary

May 09, 1959 - Jun 16, 2020

This obituary is administered by:

The Celebration of Elysium for our Beloved Lelia Marie Williams

Leiia was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, At age 2 she arrived in our great city and state of Baltimore, Maryland. She was a present giving to us by way of her late Mother & Father JOAN & WILLIAM SMITH.

Lelia graduated from fransis M, Wood; and then proceeded to further her career by receiving a Culinary of Arts Degree from”The Baltimore city culinary of arts institute”. I am sure she had great professors there, but most of her learning and experience came from home watching the true professional...her MOM!

The soul of a woman lies within; they don't play victim, don't make themselves look pitiful; and don't point fingers, They stand firm and accept what fate the Lord has prepared for them. THAT WAS OUR MONK!

June 20, 1980 God gave her what she was longing for for such a long time,,,HER KING, HER SULTAN,,,HER REASON FOR LIVING...MR. KEON ROBINSON, who she equally created with the late Mr. Teddy Robinson. The bond between a mother and her son is the only real and purest love in the world; the only true love we can ever find in our lifetime. Monk had a love for children that was so strong that when she took you in, you became hers, Keon was her biological  son and she loved no one more; but the love she had for Khali, Shanell & Darien was special in a wonderful way and would be remiss not to mention.

Cooking, listening to the motown sound, talking to anyone she met and most of all she loved her Soap Operas.. She loved Victor Newman some kind of terrible. She watched that man everyday for 40 plus years.

Monk had a very special relationship with Ms. Niecy. They were 2 peas in a pod. Ms, Niecy my heart goes out to you and thank you for befriending my aunt for as many years as you have

Our beloved Monk will be missed by many; it will take this whole obituary to name everyone. So if your name isn't mentioned please dont feel slated or less loved.

She leave to cherish her Mother, Father, (1) Aunt Delores, (2) Uncles Ralph and Micky who were all ascended before she, (1)son: Keon Robinson; (7) grandkids: Takira, Keon, Morgan, Emmanuel, Isaiah, Malachi, Kali (1) Great Grandchild : Karter (3) sisters: Valerie, Delores, & Jacquiline, & (4) sisters who was called home before her: Regina, Bernadine, Julia and Edna. She leaves behind (1) brother: James and (3) brothers who preceded her: John, Arthur & Joseph.(8)nephews: Sean, Ralph, Phil, Jerimeal, Lamont, James Jr, Hassan, Darien …(9) Nieces: Joan, Chantel, Shameka, Shanell ,Shakira, Quia, Tangela, Sharanda and Cierra whom was also called before her. And a host of great & great great nieces and nephews, Cousins and friends whom she loved dearly
