FORT WAYNE — Lenora Hicks, age 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at her residence. Mrs. Hicks was born on Oct. 22, 1950, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Sylvan Farmer and Laura Bell (Perkins) Farmer. She married Billy W. Hicks Sr. on March 25, 1968. Lenora was a member of the True Church of God in Jesus' Name in Kendallville. She loved to spend time with her "purty" husband and beautiful grandbabies. She enjoyed reading, listening to classical music, watching scary films and playing video games including Nintendo and Tetris. Lenora also enjoyed being outdoors walking, riding four wheelers and camping. Survivors include husband, Billy Hicks of Fort Wayne; four daughters, Janet and Walter Spychalski of Fort Wayne, Tammy and John Pilling of Fort Wayne, Kim and Vance Gray of Fort Wayne and Amanda Hicks of Fort Wayne; a son, Billy Hicks Jr. of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Opal McKenzie of Athens, Georgia, Elsie Jones of Harlan, Kentucky, and Lillie Mae Engle of Caywood, Kentucky; and three brothers, Robert and Diana Farmer of Fort Wayne, Chester and Linda Farmer of Tampa, Florida, and Alvin and Catherine Farmer of Harlan, Kentucky. Lenora was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roger Farmer, Perry Farmer and Roy Farmer, and a sister, Ruthie Farmer. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016, from 3-7 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Hite Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Sweet Cemetery near Albion.
