Leo A. Gunderson, of Ellensburg, passed away in the hospital after a short illness on Sunday, February 24,2008. He was 75 years old. Leo was born on September 17, 1932 in Wales, North Dakota, the son of Hans and Beatrice Lariviere. He was raised and lived in North Dakota until he was in his late teens. He then moved to Fall City, W A. In 1951, he was drafted by the U.S. Army and served two years, much of which was spent in Korea. After the service, he spent much of his working life as a cement truck driver for Reid Sand and Gravel in Issaquah until retirement in 1986. He was married to Janet Bricker for 34 years until her passing in 1987. Together they raised 3 children. Survivors include his brother, Noel and sister, Shirley; two sons, Dick and Boyd and daughter, Cheryl; six grandchildren, Sara, Jesse, Beau, Becky, Gene and Todd; four great grandchildren, Austin, Anthony, Jordynn and Jace. Leo would and did help anyone he could in any way possible without thinking twice. He was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. He will be greatly missed by many. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11 :OOam at the Fall City cemetery. A gathering will follow at The Moose Lodge in North Bend.
