Everyone mourns in different ways. For some it could be longer, for others it could be shorter. Some will grieve openly, others may internalize their sorrow. I do know this of when you pass: you wanted no monuments made, no memorial for which to weep. To the very end, you never wanted to be a burden - you never asked for very much, you only wanted a little love.
Now, I can only look back in regret of lost times and afflicted pain. I will strive to remember your smile and your desire to provide others with comfort.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part. I will take solace in knowing I have you in my heart. A thousand words can’t bring you back, I know because I tried. And neither can a million tears, I know because I cried.
I love you dad.
