HUNTERTOWN — Leo Patrick Garlitz, 71, of Huntertown, passed away at 10:31 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. Mr. Garlitz was born on October 29, 1943, in Provo, Utah, a son of George H. and Bertia (Sparks) Garlitz. After high school he served his country in the U.S. Navy. On June 6, 1970, he was married in Fort Wayne to Kathy Breunlin. He was employed at Magnavox and ITT, and retired in 2005 after 35 years. Mr. Garlitz was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco. He dedicated his life to his wife and family, and was looking forward to wintering this year in Arizona. The surviving relatives include six children, Michael (Erin) Garlitz of Fort Wayne, Brian (Kim) Garlitz of Waxahachie, Texas, Richard Garlitz (Renee La Fleur) of Martin, Tennessee, Charo Garlitz of Rockford, Illinois, Susie Crockett of Brownsburg, and Fabian (Cristy) Garlitz of Fort Wayne; and 12 grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday, February 7, 2015, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, with Father Polycarp Fernado the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 10-11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic School, Avilla.
