Leo R. GlotzbachLeo R. Glotzbach, 87, of Monticello, passed away at 3:30 pm, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.He was born on December 21, 1929 in the family home in Benton County to the late George and Mary (Francis) Glotzbach. On September 4, 1954, he married Martha "JoAnn" Miller at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Goodland and she survives.Leo was a graduate of Fowler High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.Leo was a Jeweler and owned Glotzbach Jewelers formerly in Monon. He was also a real estate broker and appraiser. He retired from the jewelry store and from his real estate business in 1999 but continued real estate appraisals until his full retirement in 2014.He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds for nearly 63 years. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and was proud to be a charter member of St. John Neuman Council, No. 6955 in Monticello.Leo served on the North White High School Building Trades Board where he served as treasurer. He also served on the North White School Board. Leo had been a member of the American Legion and Lions Club both formerly of Monon. He volunteered for the March of Dimes for over 25 years where he served as treasurer for many years.He loved golf and was proud of his hole in one he made in 2001. He enjoyed playing Euchre and was passionate about investing. He enjoyed his weekly meetings with his investment groupies.It was an honor for him to take the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. a few years ago.Also surviving are his six children, Cindy (Ron) Jenkins of Crown Point, Gregg (Peggy) Glotzbach of Bolingbrook, IL, Mary Jo (David) Robinson of Orleans, Dan (Janet) Glotzbach of Monticello, Amy (Mitch) Hannahs of Terre Haute, Mike (Michele) Glotzbach of Terre Haute; sister, Marie Butler of Lafayette; two sisters- in- law, Teresa Glotzbach of Schererville and Shirley Glotzbach of Fowler; sixteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.He was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and Don Glotzbach.The Rosary will be prayed at 2:45 (EDT) on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with visitation to follow until 8pm.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am (EDT) Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds with Father Kevin McCarthey and Father Finton Cummings concelebrating.Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Reynolds with full military rites rendered there.Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry or to St. Joseph Catholic Church with envelopes available.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
