Leon R. MiddlebrookMansfield: Leon Roger MIDDLEBROOK, 71, passed this life on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Kindred Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Middlebrook was born on Wednesday, June 26, 1946 to the late George Waymon and Lucille Helen (Burke) Middlebrook, Sr. in Mansfield where he remained a life resident. Leon was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Mansfield Senior High School, and the Providence Baptist Church. He retired from White Westinghouse when the factory closed in 1991 after 25 years of service. Leon enjoyed playing chess, running remote cars, and before his illness playing his saxophone where back in the day he was a member of several local bands.Leon is survived by his daughter and son: Kimberly Middlebrook, and Terron Middlebrook, of Columbus; 2 sisters: Beulah Mae Jones, of Mansfield, and Loretta Gaskins of Shelby; brother: James Middlebrook, Trotwood; and 2 grandchildren: Nicole and Nicholas whom he was crazy about.In addition to his parents Leon was preceded in death by his son, Darren Middlebrook, brother, George Middlebrook, Jr., and sister Geraldine Nash.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 AM in the Providence Baptist Church with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Thomas Hunt officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. till time of service.
