Ironside, LeonaLeona Ida Ironside 95 of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on 08/30/2017 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. Leona was born on November 24, 1922 in Milladore, WI to William and Ida (Bartel) Mielke.Leona married Theodore Howard Ironside on May 8, 1943 in Albion, Michigan. After WWII they lived in Wisconsin Rapids raising five children and spent many happy years together until Theodore's death on July 17th, 2009. She continued to live on her own until recently.Leona is survived by her daughter Iris (Bob) Bottensek of Rocton, IL, three sons; Jahn (Carole) Ironside of Wisconsin Rapids, Richard (Terry) Ironside of Wisconsin Rapids, Scott (Jan) Ironside of Stevens Point and 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore, daughter Debra Schweitzer, son-in-law Richard Schweitzer as well as her parents and 11 siblings.Services will be held at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home, 631 E. Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 with Visitation at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Marin Baur.
