Yasick, Leona M.Leona M. Yasick, age 88, of Neshkoro, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at the Markesan Resident Home in Markesan. She was born on September 23, 1929, in the township of Dakota, a daughter of William and Flora (Werner) Hoeft. Leona was united in marriage to Eugene Yasick on August 30, 1947, at St. John's Catholic Church in Princeton. From 1972 to 1991, she worked as a sales clerk at Sherm's Piggly Wiggly in Princeton. Leona was a great cook and pie maker, apple pies being her specialty. Her pickle and pie making skills were passed on to her grandchildren. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, reading, and coordinating trips to the casino for senior citizens. Leona is survived by her children, Lois (Ronnie) Gurke of Princeton, Mike (Debbie) Yasick of Princeton, Roy (Kathy) Yasick of Neshkoro; daughter-in-law, Suzette Yasick of Neshkoro; 7 grandchildren, Mark (Kari) Gurke, Lori Wagner; Adam (Jenny) Yasick, Annie (Josh) Davies; Justin Yasick, Josh Yasick; Stephen Brown; 8 great grandchildren, Morgan, Dylan, and Darian Kuglin; Savannah, Kylie, and Dylan Brown; Logan and Cassie Wagner; special friend, Karan Soda; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Flora Hoeft; husband, Eugene Yasick on May 12, 2017; son, Larry Yasick; granddaughter, Monica Brown; sisters, Margaret Hoeft, Dora (Edward) Kohnke, Grace (Marvin) Polfuss, Bertha (Fred) Dahlke; brothers, Richard (Irene) Hoeft, Clifford Hoeft. A Memorial Mass for Leona M. Yasick will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W.
