Leona V. AdamsAge: 90 • StauntonLeona Virginia (Shuey) Adams, 90, widow of Otha M. Adams, Sr. of 527 Hull Street, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Adams was born on August 27, 1926 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Lewis H. and Bessie Bolovor (Weaver) Shuey.Leona was a lifetime member of the Verona Full Gospel Church and was retired from Econo Lodge and White Way Laundry. She loved to give to the church, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and yard work. Leona loved her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren and was always willing to help anyone. In addition to her parents and husband of sixty-three years, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis W. Shuey; and two sisters, Margaret Pitts and Lottie (Herman) Fitzgerald.Mrs. Adams was the last surviving member of her immediate family.Surviving are three sons, Otha M. Adams, Jr. and his wife Diane of Greenville, Wayne E. Adams and his wife Kathy of Grottoes, and David W. Adams and his wife Laura of Stuarts Draft; three daughters, Virginia Ann Rose and her husband Albert of Staunton, Betty Lue Adamski and her husband Gordy of Waynesboro, and Bessie Mae Crowe of Staunton; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren also survive.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 in the Verona Full Gospel Church, 25 Lee Hwy., Verona by Pastor William Strickler and Pastor Peter Grimm.Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Verona Full Gospel Church, c/o Pastor William Strickler, 53 Adams Drive, Verona, Virginia 24482.Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.Condolences may be expressed to the family online at
