Leonard M. Vidra passed away peacefully on February 6, 2020 in Gilbert, AZ. Len was born on April 14, 1946 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of Peter and Agnes (Kasper) Vidra. Len was raised in Chicago, IL and served in the Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War from 1968- 1970. He later went on to obtain his Masters of Science in Civil Engineering.
Leonard married the love of his life Rose Ann (Lapa) who preceded him in death (2003) Leonard was a devoted father to his son Scott J. Vidra (Kimberly), a cherished brother to Robert Vidra ( Donna) . Leonard was also a dear friend to Robert T. Micetic from Chicago, IL who passed away unexpectedly 3 days after Len, the late George Graczyk and Dave Ehle. Len had many other friends from the golf and bowling community as well.
Len moved to Arizona in 1985 where he continued his engineering career at DeLeuw Cather and then Arizona Dept of Transportation and retired in 2014. Len was an avid bowler, golfer and runner. He loved the Arizona sun and took advantage of every opportunity to be outdoors. He was a baseball fan and could talk hours about baseball stats and old time players like Babe Ruth and Pete Rose. Len was also the President of the Toastmasters Club and he loved sharing the stories of the topics he discussed. He remarried in 2009 to Nancy (Montgomery) Vidra who preceded him in death in 2017. Together they enjoyed the opera and traveling and their boxer/bulldog Sammie.

In honor of Len’s favorite meal, A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held at Salerno’s Pizzeria on Sunday March 8th from 11- 2pm for immediate family and friends.
