TOMASIKLeonard Leonard J. Tomasik, 85, of Toledo, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 in Ohio Living Swan Creek Care Center. He was born on April 18, 1931 in Bayonne, NJ, to Waclaw and Martha Tomasik. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952-1954 and he married Dorothy Botwin on April 24, 1954.Leonard graduated from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and attended New York University from 1962-1964. He worked for the Lily Tulip Cup Corporation and the Lily Division of Owens Illinois. Among his many executive roles were Comptroller of the Lily Division from 1970-1978 and Manager of Financial Analysis/Domestic Operations from 1982-1984, retiring in 1986.Leonard enjoyed golf, gardening and Toledo metro parks, especially Side Cut Metro Park in Maumee. He was a loyal sports fan of Duke basketball, St. Peter's basketball, all St. John's High School teams and golfers Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Edward and Walter, and sister, Wanda Fowler. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Botwin); son, Mark (Diane) Tomasik; daughter, Karen (Anson) Schultz; sister, Eleanor Kostenowczyk; grandson, Ryan (Lindsey) Schultz; granddaughters, Meredith (Rick) Caswell and Caroline Schultz; great-granddaughter, Ainsley May Schultz and great-grandson anytime soon, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 9th beginning at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will be private.
