May 18, 1948 - November 21, 2016Leroy C. Alex, Jr. went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2016. Leroy was born on May 18, 1948 in San Antonio TX. Raised in San Antonio, Leroy joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam with the 5th Battalion, 1st Marines. Leroy was awarded the Purple Heart, Two Bronze Stars and additional commendations for his service and valor in battle. Semper Fidelis!On July 5, 1972 numerous newspapers across the U.S. printed a photo from July 4th of Leroy with his U.S. flag. One newspaper captioned the photo, "A Real Patriot" and detailed Leroy's service to the U.S.A.When not excelling in sales and marketing, Leroy enjoyed hunting, camping, history and A&M football.Leroy is survived by his children: Jennifer, Aaron and Summer Alex. His father Leroy Sr. Brothers Anthony, Arthur and Roger. Sisters Judy Dietrich, Valerie Arreguin and Sherry Sublousky. Also grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Leroy was predeceased by his mother Eleanor.Visitation, Tuesday, November 29th at Sunset Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Rosary and Funeral, Wednesday, November 30th beginning at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma TX.
