Lester Armani Wright, age 56, passed away peacefully December 20, 2019 due to diabetes and congestive heart failure. He was born January 12, 1964 in Rocky Point, Clarendon, Jamaica to Carl and Annie Wright. He married his longtime friend and love, Daniella Alexis Smith, in October of 1987.
Lester loved to love on people. He sewed and little quilted sayings constantly while still maintaining a family owned liquor store. His hands were rarely still. He also shared his love with food such as fresh cut fries for his grandsons, lasagna and real fried chicken.
For many years Lester worked at Atria/Crosslands Retirement Community in Sandy. It suited hid servant heart. He said he did it because of a promise he made his grandpa, Thomas Wright. He used to always say: “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person. And if you can take it one step further, please do it for people grandpa’s age.”
His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Lester is survived by his brother and wife Tommy and Carolyn Wright, sister and husband Mary and Vitali Abazade; sister-in-law, Juanita Cooper; her three sons and their wives Allen and Theresa Smith, Jamie and Heather Smith, and Randy Smith; grandchildren, Faith Henry, Sara Gurley, Colton Smith, Cody Smith, Derek Sharp, and Jeremy Sharp; plus 3 great grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. All of these he loved and touched deeply.
