Neuman, Lester J.Lester J. Neuman, age 99, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services for Lester will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday March 24, 2017 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Mark Miller will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday morning at the church from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post #9. Lester was born on September 15, 1917 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Veronica (Helenick) Neuman. He married Mable Foster on May 27, 1938. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1993.Lester was employed by Boltman Trucking in Milwaukee for 36 years and for 5 years at Woolco in Wisconsin Rapids, retiring in 1975.Lester is survived by his daughters Patricia Meddaugh of Wisconsin Rapids, Betty (Jerry Zimmerman) of Milwaukee and Gloria (Leonard) Servi of Milwaukee; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Mark Neuman of Milwaukee. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mabel, son Jimmy, 3 sisters and 7 brothers.Lester's family would like to thank Hilltop Homecare, Community Care, Aspirus Comfortcare Hospice and Deacon Jerry Ruesch for their loving care of Lester and special caregivers Barb, Jana, Sam, Jan, neighbor Barb Schenk and his furry friends Mitzy, Itzy-Bits, Brandi and Levi.
