Lewis Liburd was born on July 16th, 1926 in The Valley, Anguilla. After finishing secondary school he went on to attend University College London, where he graduated with a degree in laws. After his return to Anguilla, he obtained a a position as a police officer with The Royal Anguilla Police Force and served twenty-three years.
Throughout his life, Lewis had a passion for music and loved to play his guitar and sing. He was an avid fan of jazz music and would often attend local concerts and performances. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and would often take them on trips to explore different parts of the United Kingdom.
Lewis was a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife with whom he was happily married for over 50 years until her passing. Together, they had four children whom they loved dearly and were immensely proud of. Throughout his life, Lewis remained dedicated to providing a loving and supportive home for his family.
Despite facing some health challenges in his later years, Lewis remained resilient and unfailingly positive. He continued to enjoy spending time with his family and was always there to offer a helping hand or a kind word to those in need. His unwavering kindness and generosity endeared him to many and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Lewis passed away on April 28th, 2023, at the age of 96. He will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness. His legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire and uplift all those who knew him.
