Leyon K. "Yonnie" Walker Coston

Leyon Kawa "Yonnie" Walker Coston was born on August 8, 1969 Leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love on March 5, 2025.

Leyon was the beloved daughter of the late Francis Coston Sr. and Nellie Walker. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Keyon , Akeem , and Javier Coston. She adored his eight (8) grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. She was the adoring little sister to Francis Coston Jr., Sheila Owens Reynolds and Carla Owens who presided her in death. She was the "big" sister to David Coston.

Leyon received her education in the Christiana School District. She was known for her quick wit and infectious sense of humor, always making those around her smile. She was raised on the Eastside of Wilmington. While as a teenager "Yonnie" was one of the original Walnut Street Y.M.C.A. Highsteppers where she instrumental in leading the line.

She was a proud member of the NA Fellowship. NA was always a BIG part of Leyons life. Her father "Step" instilled the program into her. Even as a child "Yonnie" was always heard quoting NA jargon from 1212.(if you know, you know) Leyon found life long friendship there. She believed in the fellowship, that no matter how her life changed she could always depend on her NA family to welcome her home.

She had a knack for finding humor in every situation and could always lighten the mood with a clever joke or witty quip and/or some sarcasm. Leyon had a bold and rambunctious demeaner. Standing only 4'11 she her character was ten (10) feet tall! Always stylish and coordinated to the nine!

Leyon received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She spent her final days in worship and praise. Although Leyon's time with us was too short, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Leyon, and may your smile and laughter echo in the halls of heaven.

She leaves to honor her with our love for Christ and to cherish her in memory her family, friends and the fellowship.
