Lila Lee PaaschSeptember 28, 1921 - August 19, 2015Lila Paasch, 93, of Caldwell passed away August 19, 2015 of natural causes to enter her heavenly home. She was born on September 28, 1921 in Tarkio, Missouri to Joseph M. and Pearl A. (Swift) Lawrence. Her parents and seven siblings moved "out west" to Jerome, Idaho when she was just a little girl. Lila graduated from Jerome High School, received business training at the Weiser Institute, and later graduated from Twin Falls Business School. At a very young age, Lila, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was not inhibited in sharing her love of her Lord and Savior with others. Lila and her beloved sister, Edna, were often referred to as the "Lawrence girls" and regularly were requested to sing together in local churches during their youth. She met the love of her life, Warren (Bud) Paasch in Wendell, Idaho at a church gathering and were later married on January 24, 1943 in Jerome Assembly of God. After Bud graduated from Southwestern Bible Institute, in Waxahachie, Texas, they spent several years as directors of the Assemblies of God Servicemen's Center at Fort Hood in Kileen, Texas, church evangelists, and pioneered four new churches in Texas. Bud and Lila celebrated 62 years of marriage before Bud passed away in 2005.Bud and Lila moved to Paul, Idaho upon leaving Texas where Bud taught school and Lila enjoyed being at home with their two daughters, Darlene Rebecca (Becky) and Debra Kay (Debbie). She always referred to them as "her girls" and treasured being involved in their lives as a Campfire Girls leader, Girl Scouts enthusiast, Sunday school teacher, and all around supporter for all their involvements and activities. Lila was a wonderful homemaker and a gifted seamstress. She designed and sewed garments not only for her family but for many others as well. She later worked for Blacker's Furniture in Burley and Paul Electric as the office manager. In 1965 after moving to Caldwell, Idaho, Lila continued her business profession as a bookkeeper but later became self-employed as a distributor of Bestline Products. She enjoyed direct sales and was a natural at meeting people and "striking up" a conversation.Lila was a member of the Caldwell, Chapter 1, Disabled American Veteran's Auxiliary and served in many official capacities within the organization. She loved working for the betterment of the veterans and their families. She enjoyed playing the accordion and piano, gardening, sewing, and travel.
