On May 14th, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Lillian Mims, born on November 1st, 1942, was a beloved daughter of Willie Benjamin Mavins and Ola Patterson Mavins. She leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.
Lillian was a devoted mother to her three children, Nevada Eugenia Goeh, Monique Maria Mims, and Wanda Lynette Woods. She was also a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren,and one granddaughter who she truly cherished Joan Mavins Kinteh of Sevierville, TN. Her love and devotion to her family knew no bounds.
Lillian's education began in the Public Schools of Orangeburg, SC, where she excelled academically. She later continued her studies at Central Technical School of Nursing in Syracuse, NY, where she honed her skills and passion for helping others.
Throughout her career, Lillian worked as a dedicated Licensed Foster and Daycare Assistant at Methodist Oaks. Her compassion and kindness touched the lives of all those she cared for.
Not only was Lillian a beacon of light in her professional life, but she also dedicated her time to serving her community. She was a Youth Advisor, Sunday School Teacher, and a proud member of the YWCC (Young Women Christian Council).
Lillian Mims will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her selfless love for her family, and her commitment to making the world a better place. She leaves behind a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.
