Wallander, Lillian D.Lillian D. Wallander, age 92, a Manitowoc resident, formerly of Valders, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Harbor View Assisted Living, Manitowoc, surrounded by her loving family.She was born on June 26, 1924 in Taus, town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Oswald) Nesper. On September 25, 1945 she married Lawrence E. Wallander at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1998. Prior to her marriage, she was employed with Mirro Aluminum Company of Manitowoc. The couple also owned and operated the family farm in Cato until their retirement. She was a member of the Plainview Homemakers, Catholic Knights and the Marian Council of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Lillian enjoyed baking and sewing.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Paul & Deanna Wallander, Sturgeon Bay; one daughter and son-in-law: Carol & Lesley Kuklinski, Manitowoc; and four grandchildren: Gwyn Wallander, Milwaukee, Brett (Danita) Wallander, San Francisco, Bryan Wallander, San Francisco and Tracy Valenta (Chris Mau), Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by an infant son: Melvin; a granddaughter: Lisa Kuklinski; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Gertrude & Anton Nemetz, Christine & Fred Karl, Laura & Othmer Pritzl, Marian & Frank Braun; and one brother and sister-in-law: Raymond and Agnes Nesper.Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with burial at St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, Clarks Mills.The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 until 4:15 p.m.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting
