Lillian Skáandá.aat Fawcett Marvin passed peacefully on February 3, 2014. She was born on August 31, 1938 in Hoonah, Alaska to Dorothy (Dalton) and Charles P. Fawcett. Lillian was T'akdeintaan of Yeil Kudee Hit (Raven's Nest House) and Wooshkeetaan Yádi.Lillian worked for the State of Alaska Department of Revenue for many years. She was very kind, loving and eager to share stories and a laugh. She enjoyed crocheting, beading, sewing and making gifts and regalia for her numerous grandchildren. She happily participated in the Salvation Army Auxiliary Club and Our Aunties House. She was an ardent fan of Gold Medal basketball tournament and proudly attended her grandkids' sports events and performances. Lillian was generous and often showed her love for her family by baking, sewing or creating gifts.Lillian married Harvey Marvin on January 10, 1955, recently celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary. They spent many of their early years together in Sitka before moving to Juneau. Together they raised their children Johanna, Charles, Dorothy, Leroy and Janice. After her mother's death, she also raised her brother, Peter Marvin, as her own.Lillian leaves behind her life-long husband, 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a vast extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many more who know her as "Grandma Lillian".Full obituary will be provided at her combined memorial and funeral services to be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Tlingit and Haida Community Center.
