Linda Lindville, 73, of Owens, Alabama, passed on July 19, 2023. Linda was born on January 01, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Crittenden Jr. and Clara Lucille Crittenden; and brother, Stanley H.
Crittenden. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James W. Linville; daughters, Melissa (Linville) Atchley of Huntsville and Amanda Linville of Owens Cross Roads; son, Stephen Linville of Alpharetta, GA; and four grandchildren, Matthew Atchley, and Zach, Noah and Parker Linville.Linda was a native of Tuscumbia, Alabama. She graduated from Deshler High School in 1959 with honors. She graduated with a degree in Secondary Education from the University of North Alabama (Florence State College) in 1963. She and Jim met at Florence State in 1960 and were married on August 31, 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. Jim was commissioned into the Army, and they were stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where she taught business courses at Pearl Harbor. After Jim's tour in the Army, they relocated to Huntsville to start a family.She retired from a civil service career with the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, in 2004. Linda lived her life with strength and guidance from her Christian beliefs and instilled those beliefs in her children. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023. A graveside service will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. Afterwards, a reception will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville.
