Albany, Georgia has lost a beloved member of its community with the passing of Linda Bates on November 4, 2024, at the age of 76. Linda was born on April 4, 1948, and during her time on this earth, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. She was known for her love of gardening, cooking, and spending time in nature as well as being active in her church. Linda will be remembered for her infectious smile, her unwavering positivity, and her ability to make anyone feel welcome in her presence. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Grant, parents Ruth and Bill, sister Christine and brother Thomas. She is survived by four sisters (Patricia, Betty, Judy, and Marlene) and four brothers (Russell, James, Steve, and William) three sons (Michael, Alexander, and Matthew), her two daughters (Grace and Olivia), five grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews.

The family has chosen to not have a funeral service as to respect Linda’s wishes. Condolences may be sent to the family in private.
