This obituary is administered by:

A life of love, laughter, and endless connections

Linda Joyce Thorn of Morganville passed away peacefully on Dec 3, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter A. Popyk and Helena Popyk, as well as her elder brother Peter Popyk.

Born on July 3, 1950, to Peter A. Popyk and Helena Popyk, Linda was raised in Linden, NJ, and graduated from Linden High School where she was a twirler for the marching band. After graduating, she attended Union College and remained in Linden to raise her family of three sons Alexander Thorn, Daniel Thorn, and Patrick Thorn with her former husband of 41 years Walter Thorn. During these years, Linda also worked as an office manager for Dr. Murphy.

After a life-altering event in 2009, Linda became involved with the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, taking on several volunteering activities where she met her long-term partner, Ken Fee, and other close friends. In 2013, she moved to Morganville, NJ to reside in Chelsea Square where she enjoyed community events, making new friends, and living a joyful and social life.

Linda was a remarkable soul whose vibrant spirit and boundless generosity touched the lives of all fortunate enough to cross her path. A social butterfly with an innate ability to forge connections, she was the heart of every gathering, radiating warmth and kindness. A world traveler, Linda loved to visit and experience different countries and cultures, whether with friends or her family. Linda also kept herself busy, being an enthusiastic participant in the Marlboro Community Garden, as well as an active member of the Chelsea Square social committee. She also loved the theaters and would see different plays with friends on a regular basis.

Linda's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy and the memories she created will forever be cherished. She is survived by her partner Ken Fee as well as her children: Alexander Thorn and his wife Ketheren Thorn of Newburgh, NY; Daniel Thorn and his wife Christine Donnelly of Ocean, NJ; Patrick Thorn and his wife Jessica Thorn of McKinney, TX. Grandchildren: Colin Thorn, Kaylin Thorn, Julianna Thorn, James Thorn, Kaylei Castellano, and Brielle Castellano. Sibling: Christopher Popyk. Cousins: Joseph Stiskal and JoAnn Catuosco, and so many friends. Linda is also survived by her former husband, Walter Thorn.
