Linda Marie (Delmage) West, 71, of Myersville, MD, passed quietly in her sleep surrounded by family on 02/27/19 in Frederick, MD after a valiant battle with cancer.
Linda was born in Santa Barbara, California to the late Sherman Henry Delmage and Betty Ruth Delmage (Brumback) on June 10, 1947. She attended high school at Dundalk Senior High School and graduated in 1965. She also attended the University of New Mexico for several years. Linda worked In the Design and Production Department at the Johns Hopkins University Press for over twenty years. She had a passion for making sure every journal was perfect to the finest detail. As a child, Linda traveled the world with her family as her Dad served our country in the Army. Linda’s favorite days were spent in Nature with her family and animals. She loved the heartbeat of the Native Drums and the connection that gave her. Linda was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Sister. She filled the world with kindness and love, always reaching her hand to help anyone. She lit up a room and the hearts of everyone she knew. She frequently rescued animals that others had given up on and showed them, unconditional love. Her cat Lyra is a testament to that.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Henry Delmage, Betty Ruth Delmage, her nephew, Shane Christopher Czarnowsky and great-nephew, Liam Dakota Staggs. Linda is survived by her son, Antony West and wife Stephanie, her daughter, Amber West and her husband, Jay, brother Michael Delmage, sister Lora Delmage Czarnowsky, grandsons Brian West and Christian Schmidt, granddaughter Ines West, three great-grandsons, a niece, two nephews, and a grandniece and grandnephew.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the amazing staff of Frederick Memorial Hospital Cancer Ward. You loved her and cared for her almost as deeply as we did. The hospice staff and nurses made her final days peaceful and gentle. We will always be grateful.
Linda wanted you to keep her memory alive by reaching out to someone who needs it, loving your family with all your heart and always spreading some kindness each and every day. She will be smiling knowing she lives on with kindness.
