Linda (Brightwell) OlsenMatteson, ILLinda Brightwell Olsen of Matteson, IL passed away November 3, 2016. She was born on April 28, 1948 in Des Moines to Leroy and Hester Brightwell.Linda graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. She went on to earn her Masters Degree in English, Russian & French from the University of Iowa.Linda began her teaching career in the Fall of 1971, at Community HS District 218, Chicago, IL. She became very active in the Local Teachers Association holding several positions. In 1985 Linda began teaching at Polaris Alternative High School. Linda retired from teaching in 2003 after 32 years.Linda was preceded in death by her husband Mike Olsen, parents Leroy & Hester Brightwell.Linda is survived by a sister Robin Brightwell of Paola, KS; brother John Brightwell of Adel and brother Randy Brightwell of Des Moines; a son, John L. Bolton of Las Vegas, NV.No local services are scheduled.
