Linda Palma, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, June 16th, 2017 in Las Cruces, NM. Linda was born on December 2nd, 1948 in Glendale, CA to William and Dorothy Geddes. She graduated from Antelope Valley Community College with a degree in Accounting. She married Israel Palma on December 26th, 1976. After moving to Carlsbad, Linda began working as a bookkeeper/accountant at McKinney, Friesen, and Fritchy, then as the Director of Business Services for Landsun Homes for over 30 years. Linda was very active in school and community activities, serving in various capacities with the Relay for Life in Carlsbad and Las Cruces for more than 16 years, in the Las Cruces cancer support group, in the Carlsbad Band Boosters for more than 14 years, multiple swim teams' boosters, Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops, Landsun Homes enchilada suppers, board member for the Carlsbad Safe House, and a member of the Lions Club in La Mesa, NM. Linda is survived by her husband, Israel, and her sons Nick, Eric, and Alex all of Las Cruces; her brother Jeff Geddes and wife Vickie, of Tehachapi, CA and brother Tim Geddes of Rosamond, CA; her sister Terry Miller and husband Ron, of Tehachapi, CA and sister Lisa Anderson and husband Scott, of Sparks, NV; her many nieces and nephews in California plus numerous cousins in Indiana and Florida and a large number of wonderful friends in Las Cruces and Carlsbad. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Dorothy Geddes.Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, June 23, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will take place at First United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 with Rev. David W. Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Funeral and interment services are being directed by Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
