Lionel Bruce BuffaloApril 11, 1950 – May 7, 2017Lionel Buffalo passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 7, 2017. He was born on April 11, 1950 in Saskatoon, SK. Lionel was a horseman who ran chuck wagon, chariot and loved thoroughbred racing. He received military training in Wainwright, AB and drove his own school bus for Whitecap Dakota First Nation for many years. Lionel enjoyed his horses, horse racing, coaching the baseball and hockey teams in Whitecap, transporting youth to and from tryouts for the Summer and Winter Games, working at Dakota Dunes Golf Links and spending time with his family. He was known by his family and friends as a hardworking and fun-loving person. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Florence Buffalo; his brother William Buffalo; and his nephew Eric Morin. Lionel is lovingly remembered by his children Clayton Gamble, Brenda Gamble, Ricky Buffalo, Rena Littlepine, Chad Littlepine, Courtney Littlepine, Shannon Buffalo, Chris Buffalo, Jamie Buffalo, Kimberley Buffalo, Lionel Jr. Buffalo, and Kelsea Buffalo; his siblings Rosa Eagle, Naomi Buffalo, Harvey (Verna) Buffalo; his grandchildren, great- grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The Wake Service for Lionel will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from Charles Red Hawk Elementary School Gymnasium in Whitecap Dakota First Nation, SK. The Funeral Service will be held from the same location at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted to Acadia- McKague's Funeral Centre (306.955.1600).
