Lionel Paul Tauzier passed away on November 7, 2016 at the age of 74. He was born on January 26, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of the New Orleans area for all of his life, a city he treasured. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Mrs. Shirley Bares Tauzier. He was the loving father to daughters Tammy Tauzier Robicheaux and husband Stephen David Robicheaux, Jr., Cindy Tauzier Cusimano and husband Michael Salvador Cusimano, son Kevin Michael Tauzier and wife Whitney Sweet Tauzier. He dedicated most of his time to loving his seven grandchildren, Bryn Ashley Robicheaux, Morgan Catherine Robicheaux, Brooke Ashley Tauzier, Nicholas Michael Cusimano, Kaden Michael Tauzier, Madeline Patricia Cusimano, and Ashton Brady Tauzier, all who adored him. He is preceded in death by his mother Olga McKay Tauzier DeBlanc, his father Lionel Joseph Tauzier, and two sisters, Gail Tauzier Juneau and Faye Tauzier Barker. He was a loyal parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Covington, Louisiana, St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church in Metairie, Louisiana, and Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Krewe of Endymion since the organization's inception in 1966. He was also a proud graduate of St. Aloysius High School and a member of Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni. He served his country in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge in November, 1969. He was an avid sports fan; his most beloved being his LSU Tigers and Destrehan Fighting Wildcats. He enjoyed horse races with his cherished friends as a member of Rock & Roll Stables and I'm in Racing Stables.
