R.I.P. Lisa Woods (06/14/1980 - 09/12/2023)
It is with a mournful chuckle that we say goodbye to dear Lisa Woods of Des Moines, Iowa. Known for her wit, charm, and ability to find humor in any situation, Lisa's untimely passing has left a void in our lives, along with a bittersweet memory.
Born to Steve Woods and Kim Goode on June 14, 1980, Lisa was destined to bring laughter to the world. She inherited her quick sense of humor from her father, Steve, who always had a witty comment up his sleeve for any occasion. Her mother, Kim, on the other hand, couldn't help but laugh at Lisa's antics, even when they weren't exactly appropriate.
Lisa's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her three children, Kaitlyn, Kalie, and Evinn. They often found themselves swept up in her hilarious antics, rolling their eyes while secretly cherishing every moment. From their infectious laughter during family game nights to the absurdly funny dances in the kitchen, Lisa's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her children.
After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1998, Lisa continued her studies at the esteemed Institute of Silly Behavior (ISB). There, she honed her comedic timing and perfected the art of making everyone laugh until their sides hurt.
Unfortunately, Lisa's final punchline came far too soon. On September 12, 2023, she accidentally overdosed, leaving us all in shock and disbelief. No one saw it coming; we were all too busy laughing at one of her hilarious stories to notice her pain.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Lisa's infectious laughter and her ability to lighten any mood. May her soul find eternal joy in the afterlife, where she surely has them all rolling on the floor laughing.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the International Society of Comedians (ISC), so that laughter may continue to be spread in Lisa's memory.
