He was born on January 21, 1926 in California to Niels Chris and Anna Pitblado McPherson Peterson. He married Phyllis Prosise on January 13, 1964 in Weshchester, California. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII as a Corporal and was the recipient of the Purple Heart award. He loved to fish. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and especially their yearly vacations. He also loved animals. He is survived by a step-son, Joey Thomas, of Santa Cruz, CA; and by a close friend Sharon Stephens, of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis, a son David Peterson, and and a daughter Phyllis J. Peterson; and a sister Audrey. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Downey LDS Chapel 310 East Center Street in Downey, Idaho. A viewing will be held Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Weston, Idaho Cemetery at approximately 4:00 p.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
