Lloyd Kydd Hoover, 91, of Frederick, MD passed away on November 3, 2016. He was the husband of Charlotte Goodrich Hoover. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd L. Hoover and Mabel Kidd Hoover, and his brother Kenneth P. Hoover. Lloyd was born on June 13, 1925 in Ijamsville, MD. He received his education at Frederick High School, Western Maryland College, and the University of Maryland. Lloyd's career started with teaching in Harford, Frederick and Montgomery counties, and then as a vice-principal, principal and Director of Instruction in Prince George's County. He served as President of Prince George's County Teachers Association, and the Maryland Retired Teachers Association.After retiring, Lloyd practiced real estate and served on various boards, most notably as president of the Board of Federation Charities where he spearheaded the renovation and expansion of the building. During his lifetime he was active in the Jaycees, Rotary Club, as its president, and Grace United Church of Christ. In 2011 he was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Frederick High School.Lloyd is survived by his wife, daughter Kathleen Hoover and husband Greg Siegner, son Steven Hoover and wife Margie, son Brian Hoover, granddaughter Kaylin Lewine, husband Eli and great-granddaughter Rhen, grandson Jonathan Hoover, and nieces and nephews.The family will receive relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Thursday, November 10 from 6-8 pm. A memorial service in Lloyd's honor will be held at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick, MD on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:30 am. A private burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
