Recore, Sr., Lloyd J.Lloyd J. Recore, Sr., age 78, of Whitelaw, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous fight with cancer.Lloyd was born on June 6, 1939 in Milwaukee, son of the late Clifford Sr. and Eleanor (Antczak) Recore. He married the former Ursula Pionkowski on February 1, 1964 in Milwaukee.Lloyd grew up in Upper Michigan, South Range/Painesdale area. He went to Jeffers High School before joining the United States
Army for 6 years. Lloyd was stationed in Germany for 2 years. He worked at various factory jobs in Milwaukee before becoming an Ironworker for Local 8 and moving his family to the Manitowoc area in 1967 to work on the Point Beach and Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plants. Lloyd retired from Ironworks after 25 years. He was a member of the Valders American Legion Post #28, Manitowoc Eagles Aerie #706, AmVets Post #99,
Elks Lodge 687, Ironworkers Local 8 and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, socializing with friends, visiting the UP, and cutting wood.Lloyd is survived by his wife: Ursula Recore, Whitelaw; children: Lloyd Recore, Jr.; Denise (Rob) Roseff; Michelle (Troy) Evenson; Stephen Recore; grandchildren: Ashley and Amanda Recore; Keith and David Roseff; Theresa and Christopher Evenson; Austin and Brandon Recore; great-grandchildren: Hope and Trinity Recore; brother: Ronald (Sue) Recore; sister: Beverly Wallin; mother-in-law: Evelyn Pionkowski; special nephew: David Comina, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Eleanor Recore, Sr.; brother: Clifford Recore, Jr.; sisters: Lorraine Anderson; Patricia Meganck; Audrey Podevels; father-in-law: Ambrose Pionkowski; brothers-in-law: Ralph Bagneski; Ben Anderson; John Meganck; Leonard Wallin; Leroy Franczszak; Earl Hoyer; Timothy Turner; Paul Pionkowski; Michael Pionkowski; sisters-in-law: Ellen Recore; Mary Pionkowski; special relatives: Donald Recore; Joseph (Mary "Louise") Comina.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 522 Tower Avenue, Kellnersville. The Rev. David Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Knollwood Cemetery. Military graveside honors will accorded by AmVets Post #99. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. A parish prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Cal Naidl.
