Lomeda Ann "Pete" Laster, 69, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009 at her home in Yuma. She was born on November 8, 1939. Pete attended Crane School and Yuma Union High School. She was self-employed. She was a Lamb Leader with Crane North 4-H group for 40 years. Pete was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Pete is survived by her son, Jimmy Laster; daughter, Brenda Laster Tudor; grandsons, Jake Tudor, and Luke Laster; granddaughters, Traci Tudor, and Lindsay Laster; sister, Gean Cypert Grissom; brothers, Ted Cypert of Cortez, CO, and Bo Cypert of Yuma; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pete was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Anna Cypert; husband, Mel Laster; brothers, Donald Cypert and Mert Cypert; sisters, Mildred Cypert and Lola Cypert Brick. A service will take place at Johnson Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Doyle Williams. Pallbearers will be Tim Dunn, Chuck Hunt, Alan Christensen, Jim Reinertson, Don Struckmeyer, Danny Tortalano, Gary Langford, and John Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Jester Roach, Bobby McKay, Ross Heimbach, Gerald Fisher, and Earl McKay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Yuma. The family wishes to thank those who helped Pete in her battle with lung cancer.
